Q:
Do I have to send you all the invoices etc I receive?
A: Yes. You can scan all your purchase invoices as well as copies
of sales invoices and other documents in your office on a daily
basis, and email the file to us, or alternatively send us copies
in the post. You keep a file in your office of all the original
documentation, as you are the person ultimately responsible to the
VAT authorities and to Inland Revenue. If HM Customs & Excise or
Inland Revenue choose to carry out an inspection, they may well
wish to do this at your premises and they will expect you to have
all the source documents supporting your accounts there.
Q: Can you export information from Sage into
a Spreadsheet?
A: Yes. We can provide you, if required, with email files containing
information exported from Sage.
Q: Will any information about me or my business
be passed to anyone else?
A: Basically no. We are governed by the same rules of client confidentiality
as are the firms of accountants in your local High Street. This
means that we cannot pass any information about you to anyone else
without your specific permission unless there is a legal requirement
for us to do so. (In the event of monies owing to ourselves being
unpaid, we reserve the right to pass information to outside agencies
as necessary to ensure collection of monies outstanding).
Q: Do I still need my own Accountant?
A: Key does not try to replace your own Accountant/Auditor. We carry
out all the bookkeeping functions for your business but we do not
provide any tax or audit services. We concentrate on the services
that we are experts in and leave the rest to other experts.
Q: If I have my own Accountant why do I need
Online Accounting?
A: Your Accountant is a highly qualified professional who is trained
to provide you with advice on various aspects of running your operation.
We provide a lower level service, automating the operation of your
accounting functions and ensuring that your accounts are properly
and accurately maintained. Using Key to carry out these functions
frees your accountant to be able to spend more time monitoring your
operation and providing pro-active advice.
